Srinagar, July 7: In a continued effort to tackle congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow for tourists, the Traffic Police in Srinagar has taken stringent measures to enforce the designated “no halt zones” from Dalgate to Nehru Park.
Despite prior notifications and warnings, instances of vehicles parking or stopping in these restricted areas persist, prompting the authorities to take further action.
On Friday, the Traffic Police introduced the use of wheel clamps to immobilize vehicles found in violation of the designated no halt zones. This step aims to act as a deterrent and ensure compliance with traffic regulations. The decision to utilize wheel clamps and seize vehicles sends a strong message to the public regarding the significance of adhering to traffic rules.
Previously, the Traffic Police had declared several areas as no halt zones with the aim of reducing traffic congestion and facilitating the seamless movement of tourists. These measures were implemented to enhance the overall efficiency of the transportation system in the city and provide a pleasant experience for visitors.
Authorities are appealing to the public to cooperate and refrain from parking or stopping their vehicles in the specified areas. Instead, individuals are encouraged to utilize designated parking spaces to ensure an organized flow of traffic.
By implementing these measures, the Traffic Police in Srinagar aims to create an environment conducive to uninterrupted traffic movement, thereby improving the overall experience for residents and tourists alike.
