Action under NDPS Act Section 68-F
Srinagar, May 05: Continuing its relentless drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing 100-day campaign of the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Police in Srinagar have attached immovable property worth approximately Rs 1.20 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler.
Police Station Nowhatta, acting under the provisions of Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, attached the immovable property of accused Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, son of Habibullah Sheikh, a resident of Kani Dewar, Sheikh Mohallah, Hawal, Srinagar, who is involved in FIR No. 61/2019 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act, a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here.
He said the attached property includes a fully renovated three-storey residential house, a separate single-storey concrete kitchen block with three washrooms, and land measuring nine marlas.
“Investigation revealed that the said property was acquired through proceeds of illicit drug trafficking. Accordingly, the property has been identified and attached as illegally acquired assets under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act,” the spokesperson said, adding that this action reflects the firm commitment of J&K Police to dismantle the financial networks of drug traffickers and to curb the menace of narcotics in society.
