Srinagar, Nov 22: The Mayor of Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattuon Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the progress of various ongoing tendered works by Srinagar Municipal Corporation at the conference hall, here.
The meeting was attended by Joint Commissioner (S) SMC, FA/CAO SMC, Superintendent Engineer Drainage, Executive Engineer Electric and Mechanical SMC, concerned and various other senior officials from SMC.
Stressing upon the timely completion of all the pending works, the Mayor directed Joint Commissioner (Works) to ensure necessary action in all the pending works for their timely completion.
He further instructed them to make necessary arrangements for the foundation laying ceremony of cell four at landfill site Achan.
During the meeting, the Mayor was provided a detailed report about the Animal Birth Control Project at Tengpora and Chatterhama respectively. It was also decided that the tenders of the projects will be floated within a couple of days.
In order to bring all Wards at par in regard to light distribution, the Mayor directed Executive Engineer Electric, SMC to provide a detailed Ward wise list of the number of lights installed under ESSL.
During the meeting Executive Engineer electric SMC provided status for the 2nd phase of ESSL Street Lighting.
Superintendent Engineer Drainage and concerned officials were directed by the Mayor to take measures for city drainage under “Drainage Master Plan.”
‘Our work has to be beyond question, our integrity has to be unquestionable’, said the Mayor adding, ‘eventually people will judge us on the basis of work we have delivered’.
A detailed outlook report of current financial scenario and availability of funds and existing liabilities funds earmarked for projects were provided by FA/CAO SMC during the meeting.
Further, the major pending approved projects under CAPEX 2022-23 were also highlighted.
During the meeting, it was entrusted upon officials to put necessary measures in place regarding the availability of human resources for snow clearance.
Further the Mayor directed officials to make a human resource factor for induction of new door to door waste collection by vehicles available for streamlining waste collection.
