The 434 km long Srinagar-leh highway which was closed on 8 May for traffic following heavy snowfall and multiple avalanches near Zojila pass Friday reopens for on way traffic.
Official sources said that following fresh snowfall and multiple avalanches near Captain morh,Daniyal,and other dangerous places on May 8 last week was closed for traffic by traffic police authorities as precautionary measures.
Sources further said around five to six inches of fresh snow had accumulated on the Zojila pass,Gumri,and Zero Point.
Traffic police sources told Rising Kashmir that after 4 days and the restoration of good weather the stranded Passenger vehicles from Sonamarg Side released to their ultimate destination.
Meanwhile J&K Traffic Police tweeted that Traffic plying on Jammu Srinagar NHW. Traffic released on SSG road after clearance avalanche. People are advised to follow lane discipline.
