Srinagar gears up for G20 Summit’s power supply

Srinagar, May 19:The power supply scenario for the upcoming G20 Summit in Srinagar was discussed during a meeting presided over by KPDCL’s Managing Director.
Various KPDCL officials attended the conference, including the Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer Circle 1st, 2nd, Ganderbal, and Sopore, Executive Engineers of O&M Div 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and those of Sub-Transmission Div. 1st and 2nd. 
It was decided that officers of KPDCL will chart out a deployment plan for better coordination with District Administration for emergency services related to Electricity. 
Senior Superintendent of Police (Security) was directed to issue security passes to all employees that will be present round the clock. The chair also issued instructions to have a backup plan in case of any eventually that may lead to disturbance in power supply. Special Control Rooms were to be maintained round the clock during the summit. 
The director also directed the concerned officers to prioritize the works and complete all the pending tasks by today evening. KPDCL was advised to maintain better coordination with sister wings of JKPDD for reliable power supply to the venues. Employees shortlisted for the event were required to be in contact with the concerned SHO (Police) for hassle free movement. 
The city is eagerly awaiting the commencement of the summit with all necessary preparations being completed on time.
