Srinagar, Sep 21: The two-day-long Srinagar District Judo Championship, organized by the J&K Judo Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, concluded with high energy and fervor at the Indoor Sports Hall, Polo Ground, Srinagar.
Over 150 talented judokas, including both boys and girls hailing from various parts of the district, showcased their exceptional skills and sportsmanship during the championship. The event aimed to promote the sport of judo and identify emerging talents within the region.
Maqsood Ahmad Khan, Manager of the Indoor Sports Complex at Polo Ground, Srinagar, graced the concluding ceremony as the Chief Guest. Abdul Hamid Khan, Vice-President of the J&K Judo Association, and Gowhar Khan, Joint Secretary, were the esteemed Guests of Honor. They presided over the medal and certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing the outstanding performances of the participants.
The event also witnessed the presence of prominent figures in the field of judo, including Shafkat Shafi, NIS Senior Judo Coach; Rahil Shafi, NIS Judo Coach; Kabra Altaf, State Awardee NIS Judo Coach; and Farhat Gulzar. As a token of appreciation, mementos were presented to all the esteemed guests and officials, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the successful organization of the championship.
The Srinagar District Judo Championship not only provided a platform for young judokas to display their talents but also encouraged the growth of the sport in the region.
