Srinagar, April 26: The body of a minor boy, who was missing after the April 16 boat capsize tragedy in the Jhelum river, was recovered on Friday afternoon near Raj Bagh, officials said
According to an official, the retrieved body was found near the Old Zero Bridge in the Rajbagh vicinity of Srinagar. The body was shifted to SMHS Srinagar for necessary medico-legal procedures.
The deceased has been identified as Farhan Waseem (11), son of Waseem Ahmad Parra, resident of Gandbal, Srinagar. After completing the legal formalities, the body was handed over to legal heirs for the funeral.
As soon as the body of the minor boy reached his native village, a pall of gloom descended in the area as the family of the missing boy had been in distress for 11 days. Hundreds of people also took part in the last rites of Farhan Waseem.
While the recovery of the boy’s body provides closure to one family, and the search continues unabated for the remaining two missing persons.
