Srinagar, Jan 25: Sr. Commandant/SSP (Chief Airport Security Officer) Avadhesh Pratap Singh currently posted at Srinagar Airport since August 2024, has been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2025.
Singh joined the CISF as an Assistant Commandant in 2002. After completing his basic training, he served in various CISF units across different sectors.
He has worked extensively in the airport sector, serving as the Chief Airport Security Officer (CASO) at ASG Dibrugarh, Varanasi, and Srinagar.
Additionally, he was on deputation to the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) from 2017 to 2024. During this period,
He has made significant contributions to policy-related work within BCAS and performed his duties with great professionalism.
Singh also served as the Regional Director in both Guwahati and Srinagar. He has conducted audits, inspections, and surveys at over 40 state police and CISF-controlled airports.
He was also a team member of the BCAS audit team that inspected various facilities at Heathrow Airport in the UK. As a certified instructor, he has conducted numerous exams (for screeners, auditors, and instructor certifications) and taught various courses.
His contributions to policy-making are also noteworthy, having played a key role in drafting the AEP Guidelines 2022, the Manpower Norms 2021, and the revision of the Anti-Hijacking Manual.
For his outstanding work, Avadhesh Pratap Singh was honoured with the DG’s Commendation Disc and Certificate by the Director General of BCAS in 2023.
