In a concerted effort to ensure fare compliance and uphold the integrity of railway services, a special ticket checking drive was conducted in the Srinagar-Banihal section on by North Railways on Saturday.
Railway officials, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, carried out a thorough inspection of Train numbers 04614 and 09765.
Chief Area Manager (CAM) Kashmir, Saqib Yousuf Yatoo (IRTS) told Rising Kashmir that special ticket checking drive was conducted in the Srinagar-Banihal section on Saturday.
“During the operation, a total of 60 passengers were apprehended for traveling without valid tickets. Railway authorities promptly imposed fines in accordance with the regulations. A sum of Rs. 17,235 was successfully recovered as fines from the errant passengers,” he said.
CAM said that in light of this enforcement action, the railway administration earnestly encourages all passengers to obtain their tickets through both online and offline channels.
” This proactive measure not only ensures a smooth travel experience but also supports the sustainable functioning of the railway system,” he said.
