Anantnag, July 21: The special issue of the monthly news magazine ‘The Valley Reporter’ was released on Friday at Khanqah-e-Hydari Grandwam Aishmuqam here.
The magazine was released by the founder Khanqah-e-Hydari and Islamic scholar Dr Mohammad Sameer Shafi Siddiqui in the presence of a chief guest, DFO Ladder Forest Division, Dr Mehraj Ahmad, Editor in Chief of The Valley Reporter Gulzar Ahmad Ganie and senior journalist Javaid Sagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sameer Siddiqui said that journalism is not only a profession but a mission where journalists are supposed to bring forward the truth without any bias or exaggeration. He said the greater responsibility lies on the shoulders of journalists to act as a bridge between the people and the administration for the betterment of society. He congratulated the entire team of “The Valley Reporter” for publishing the magazine regularly with honesty and dedication.
The chief guest Dr Mehraj on the occasion said he is a regular reader of the magazine and has always found it very informative, upholding the values and ethics of journalism.
Journalist Javaid Sagar while congratulating the editorial team of the magazine said the content of the special issue is not only current but informative and rich too. “The cover story of the issue dedicated to Dr Mohammad Sameer Shafi Siddiqui has been nicely written which enlightens and enriches the reader about the contribution of the scholar to Islam and compels the reader to know more and more about him,” he said.
Journalists including Najeem Shame from Sach News, Mohd Rouf Dar from Daily Dainik Bhaskar, Mohd Aamir Rah from JK News Point and Syed Ishrat Nazir Shah from Awaz e Bar-e-Sagheer covered the event for their organisations.
