Baramulla, Apr 07: The residents of Hardushiva village in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are calling for the immediate replacement of damaged wooden electricity poles and hanging high-tension wires that are posing a threat to their safety.
According to locals, the decaying electric poles and low-lying wires tied to trees have caused fear among inhabitants of Rather Mohalla and adjacent localities, who are concerned about potential accidents.
Despite repeated requests to the Power Development Department (PDD) to replace the wooden poles, the locals allege that no action has been taken.
An official from the PDD division in Sopore responded, stating that the department does not have the necessary funds for the replacement, and that it is the responsibility of the PRI to disburse the funds.
The residents of Hardushiva village are urging the authorities to take immediate action to replace the damaged poles and wires to ensure the safety of the local community.
