A 10th grade student enrolled at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) city school has reportedly gone missing since December 08, while as the family has sought help in tracing him out.
The youth has been identified as Masroor Abbas Mir son of Mohammad Abbas Mir, a resident of Bohripora area in north Kashmir’s Sopore.
A family member told Rising Kashmir that Masroor went missing on December 08 from Aligarh soon after withdrawing money from a nearby ATM.
“According to his colleagues, at around eight in the morning, Masroor left his hostel for school, but he never made it to school,” he said.
The family member further stated, “We tried asking his colleagues and the school administration about his location, but no one knows about him.”
“Masroor had withdrawn a cash of Rs 5000 from ATM,” he added.
Meanwhile Aligarh police in a tweet said that a missing report has been lodged in the concerned police station.
“Legal proceedings were made prevalent by registering charges. Cooperate in finding the missing person, if seen anywhere, inform the jurisdictional officer III- 9454401241 and station in-charge civil line- 9454402778,” the tweet from Aligarh police reads.
The family of the missing youth said that anybody having any information may kindly inform the family on 8308876880 and 8491878812.
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti took to microblogging site twitter and said “Masroor Abbas Mir, a tenth grade student at the Aligarh Muslim University has been missing since yesterday morning. Please do spread the word in helping his family trace his whereabouts.”
The J&K Students Association seeking the whereabouts of the missing youth said, “Kashmiri Student (Masroor Abbas Mir) of class 10th from Sopore enrolled in AMU city school is missing since morning. If anyone has any information about the same please contact on the following No.’s 8082080895, 8308876880.”
