One person was killed while many others are reportedly feared dead today after an avalanche hit them in Sarbal area of Sonamarg in Central Kashmirs Ganderbal district Official Sources said here today.
Official sources told Rising Kashmir that the Labourers working with Mega Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), came under a snow avalanche early in the morning in Sarbal Sonamarg.
Project Manager Mega Engineering Harpal Singh said that the body of one of the person was pulled out of the snow by a rescue team and efforts are on to trace the other.
The identity of the Labourer is being ascertained, police sources said.
