SRINAGAR, NOV 28: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has informed domestic consumers to consider the bulk text messages they have received regarding the installation of solar rooftop plants under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana as genuine and authentic.
A KPDCL spokesperson clarified that these messages are being sent to domestic and Rate Code 1 consumers whose monthly bills exceed Rs. 2,000. The aim is to encourage consumers to install solar rooftops under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, which will help reduce their electricity bills. Consumers can also avail a central subsidy of Rs. 85,800 and a UT share of Rs. 9,000 for plants up to 3 kWp.
The spokesperson further stated that out of 24,558 metered consumers with registered mobile numbers, 24,538 have already received these messages. The messages will be repeated in a time-bound manner.
