Softball Championship 2024-25 declared open at Srinagar

Srinagar, March 25: The Softball Championship 2024-25 was Wednesday declared open at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar.
The event witnessed huge participation of athletes from 14 districts of J&K Union Territory.
The 3-day Championship is being organised by J&K Softball Association in collaboration Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. The Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, J&K Sports Council, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the steps taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and J&K Softball Association for development and promotion of Softball in particular and other recognised Sports in general. Softball is a recognised and regular event in the Olympic Games and Asian Games.
She said since a few years Softball sport is gaining momentum and achieving great heights in Jammu and Kashmir, besides making inroads in every nook and corner of the Union Territory. She lauded the efforts of the organisers for uplifting sports and games in Jammu & Kashmir. Over 500 athletes and officials from 14 districts of UT J&K are participating in the championship in Sub-Junior (Boys & Girls), Junior (Boys & Girls) and Senior (Men & Women) categories.
“The 3-day Championship, which is being sponsored by J&K Sports Council, will conclude on March 27, 2025. Manager Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, sports personalities, district unit heads, sports lovers and International Softball athletes were present in the event.
