Srinagar, Mar 09: People Conference on Saturday said it received a significant boost as hundreds of prominent socio-political workers from Karnah and Kupwara “embraced the vision and agenda” of the party in a series of joining events spearheaded by its president Sajad Gani Lone.
“The joining events saw members from Reddi Chowkibal, Khanbal, Rawathpora, Panzgam, Shaloora and Aloosa in the Karnah constituency coming into the fold,” the party said in a statement, adding, “Besides Party President, DDC Chowkibal Habibullah Beigh, Block President Chowkibal Ali Mohammad, Block President Shaloora Mohammad Maqbool Khan, PC Youth Head Karnah Constituency Jahangir Mir were present.”
In a separate joining event, hundreds of political activists from Trumnad, Batpora-Balham, Chad, Junnar, Jugtyaal, Manigha, Halmatpora and Hyhama areas of Kupwara constituency joined the party, the PC said.
Addressing the new members, Sajad Lone warmly welcomed them and commended their choice to join the “caravan of change, which embodies the aspirations and hopes of the people”. “The public issues concerning underdevelopment, infrastructural deficiencies, and limited employment opportunities have plagued our people for decades. However, Peoples Conference has ignited a sense of hope among the people, promising a transformative era marked by progress and opportunities for all,” he said.
Lone urged the new entrants to immerse themselves in grassroots work and establish a robust rapport with the community to better understand their persistent challenges. “In emphasizing the need for effective communication, I must underscore the critical importance of articulating the party’s developmental agenda with clarity and conviction to ensure it reaches the common masses,” he said.
Expressing gratitude for the generous welcome, the new members pledged to wholeheartedly advocate for the party’s agenda among the people, aiming to foster tangible progress and inclusive opportunities, the party said.
