In a proactive move towards strengthening child protection initiatives, the Social Welfare Department organized a one-day Training cum Awareness Program here today.
The programme was held under the astute supervision of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary. The primary objective of the program was to enlighten stakeholders about the Mission Vatsalya Guidelines, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and implementation of child protection and welfare measures.
Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Sharma, presided over the function in presence of ACD Ashok Singh, DySP Hqr Om Prakash, Tehsildar Ramban Harvir Singh, and several other stakeholders from Revenue Department, besides Chowkidars and Numberdars from the Rural Development Department (RDD).
District Child Protection Officer, Rahul Gupta played a pivotal role in orchestrating the program, emphasizing the collaborative efforts required to enhance stakeholders’ capacity in effectively addressing child protection issues.
Speaking on the occasion, ADDC Rajinder Sharma highlighted the significance of such training programs in creating awareness and fostering a collective approach. He underscored the essential role played by collaborative efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of children within the community.
The DCPO briefed the attendees about the program’s alignment with the directives of Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Social Welfare Department, Sheetal Nanda. The Mission Vatsalya Guidelines, he explained, were designed to focus on child protection and welfare.
By involving representatives from various departments, including the Revenue Department, RDD, and law enforcement, the organizers ensured a holistic understanding of the guidelines, fostering a unified front in safeguarding the welfare of our children.
