These link roads include Kaloo Mohallah to Gund, main Wangat, , Zirpora to Rezan, Kalas Pati Rayil, NH1 to Ramwari Gund, etc.

“We are facing lot of inconvenience due to administration’s delay in snow clearance. We are unable to shift sick and women in labour to hospitals. There is no connectivity at all,” said a local, Fayaz Ahmad.

Executive Engineer R&B Tatheer Manzoor told Rising Kashmir that snow clearance operation continues and the road length requiring clearance is 650 km and till now 430 km have been cleared.

“Due to continuous snowfall, we face lot of difficulties in removing the snow, but even though the department has removed the snow from the 430 km stretch in the district, so far,” he said, adding “Due to heavy snowfall in the late evening, the snow clearance operation has been stopped. The process will be started in the morning again.”

He said, in the Ganderbal sub-division125 km of road length, 98 km in Lar sub-division, and 90 km in Kangan sub-division have been cleared of snow for which 27 JCBs and 23 tractors were on job. In some stretches where machines couldn’t work, men have been deployed there as well.
