Ganderbal, April 06: Authorities have officially ordered the closure of snow skiing activities at the popular tourist destination of Sonamarg in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district marking the seasonal shift as summer approaches.
The decision comes in view of the onset of the summer season and aims to preserve the lush green meadows of the picturesque valley. According to the order in view of the onset of summer season and to preserve the greenery of the Meadows of Sonamarg area, the snow ski operations are seized henceforth at Sonamarg tourist destination. Any violation shall be dealt strictly. Sonamarg, often referred to as the ‘Meadow of Gold,’ attracts thousands of tourists and adventure enthusiasts every year.
