The snow clearance operations are currently in full swing across Srinagar, with the authorities saying they are working to ensure the city remains accessible, with priority given to roads leading towards hospitals.

Dr. Owais Ahmad, the Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and CEO of Smart City Srinagar, said the priority roads leading to essential services like hospitals have been cleared first.

He said mechanical clearance using snow removal machines has been completed across the city, while manual clearance of narrower lanes and bylanes is still ongoing.

As earlier reported by KNO, the SMC Commissioner visited Ghanta Ghar Lal Chowk yesterday evening to oversee the city’s snow preparedness.

It is worth mentioning that the 24×7 Control Room of Srinagar Municipal Corporation has been set up, where people can reach at 01942474499, 01942470465, and 1-800-180-7038—(KNO)
