Jammu, Mar 22: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) and Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) organised a three-day visit for students to participate in the Startup Mahakumbh at the iconic Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from March 18 to 20, 2024.
In this unprecedented event that brought together the entire startup ecosystem of India, including startups, investors, incubators, accelerators, and industry leaders from various sectors, fifteen students along with Ph.D. scholar Manish Kumar from the School of Business interacted with leading innovators in the country. The mega event was a collaborative effort of ASSOCHAM, NASSCOM, Bootstrap Incubation & Advisory Foundation, TiE, and the Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA).
The Startup Mahakumbh boasted a turnout of over 2,000 startups, 1,000 investors, 100 unicorns, 300 incubators and accelerators, along with 3,000 delegates, 3,000 prospective entrepreneurs, and more than 50,000 business visitors nationwide. Students from Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and the School of Business had the opportunity to showcase their ideas to prominent investors, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
The five startups from Jammu and Kashmir, including SMVDU-TBIC, graduated incubates Nentoir Technologies and Branding Elves, seized the spotlight on the grand occasion. On the concluding day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the venue and addressed the audience.
The visit was the result of the collaborative efforts of SMVDU TBIC and Director JKEDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma (JKAS). Prof Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, congratulated the participating students.
