SMVDU secures prestigious ‘A’ grade in NPTEL rankings

Jammu, July 17: Under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and in alignment with the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has been awarded an “A” grade by the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), placing it among the top 80–100 technical institutions in the country.As per a statement issued here, this prestigious recognition underscores the academic excellence and collaborative efforts of both the faculty and students of SMVDU. Prof. Amit Kant Pandit, the university’s Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for NPTEL, received the award at the NPTEL North Zone SPOC Felicitation Workshop held on 12 July 2025 at IIT Kanpur. Prof. Pandit praised the consistent efforts of SMVDU’s academic community, which played a vital role in achieving this milestone. He also confirmed that the university has once again secured an “A” grade for the January–May 2025 session in the NPTEL Local Chapter evaluations.In recognition of his sustained contributions and proactive engagement as SPOC, Prof. Pandit was felicitated with a certificate of appreciation during the event. Looking to the future, Prof. Pandit outlined new initiatives aimed at strengthening the integration of NEP objectives through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). He expressed optimism that SMVDU is well on its way to entering the elite top 20 institutions (A+++) based on future performance. He also extended heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor for his unwavering support in promoting NEP-aligned educational strategies and cultivating a culture of digital learning and academic innovation at SMVDU.
