Katra, May 06: The Skill Hub Centre at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Tuesday organised a Kit and Certificate Distribution Ceremony at the Central Workshop as part of its Basic Soft Skills Training Programme in collaboration with BOSCH.
Training kits were handed over to the newly enrolled candidates, while certificates were awarded to participants of the previous batch who successfully completed the course. The event was graced by the Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) Pragati Kumar, who commended the initiative’s positive impact on local youth. Prof. Balbir Singh, Dean of Academic Affairs, underscored the importance of skill development in today’s competitive job market. Dr Y. Anand, Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr Anurag, Head of the School of Languages, appreciated the efforts of the Skill Hub Centre and encouraged students to take full advantage of such training opportunities. Dr Sanjay Sharma, Associate Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering and Coordinator of the Skill Hub Centre, highlighted the programme’s focus on building essential soft skills to enhance employability and self-confidence. The Centre is also expanding its outreach under the PMKVY 4.0 scheme, with two new training batches currently underway—Electrician Domestic Solutions and Assistant Carpenter.
