Secures multiple titles at LNMIIT Jaipur’s cultural fest
Jaipur, Feb 22: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Dance Club delivered a stellar performance at VIVACITY ’25, the renowned cultural festival of LNMIIT Jaipur, securing four podium finishes across multiple categories.
Competing against 13 universities from seven states across India, the team showcased exceptional talent, reinforcing SMVDU’s reputation as a formidable contender in national university dance competitions. Under the leadership of Achint Raj (Dance Club Coordinator, Board of Cultural Activities, SMVDU) and faculty coordinators Dr Rakesh Thusoo and Dr Rahul Sharma (President and Vice President, Board of Cultural Activities, SMVDU), the team captivated audiences with their electrifying performances. Achievements–first Runner-up (Group Folk & Classical Dance Category). The team, coached by Achint Raj, mesmerised spectators with a vibrant display of Bhaderwahi and Dogri folk dances, featuring Shriya Sharma, Drishti Mahajan, Vaidehi, Aru Sharma, Charu Sharma, Kamakshi Gupta, Avineet Isher, Deepika Sharma, Bhavya Sharma, Shambhavi Sharma, Pounami Das, and Sneha Sambyal.
First runner-up (Solo Western Dance): Vardhan Sharma delivered a dynamic and powerful solo performance. Second Runner-up (Duet Classical Dance): Akhya Agrawal & Nikhil captivated the audience with their graceful act.
First place (Contrast Art Competition): Kritika Sangotra claimed the top spot with an outstanding artistic creation. In addition to the accolades, the team also secured a cash prize, a testament to their dedication and excellence. Their remarkable success at VIVACITY ’25 marks a historic achievement for SMVDU, further solidifying its position as a leading force in cultural and performing arts at the national level.
