Jammu, May 01: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra organised a mini marathon against drug abuse to celebrate the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
“The NSS unit and the Board for Sports Activities organised the mini marathon on the university premises. Around 100 participants participated in the event,” the university said in a statement, adding, “NSS volunteers Awanish and Mehak shared their thoughts on drug abuse. Refreshments and cash prizes provided by President, Hindustan Scouts and Guides NGO were distributed to the participants.”
After the mini marathon event, a live telecast of the 100th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ was held in the lecture hall. The students listened to the thoughts shared by the Prime Minister. NSS coordinators Dr Rajiv Kumar, Kamaldeep, BSA President, Dr Parvez Salathia and other faculty and staff members including Dr Indu Bhushan, Dr Amit Sinha, Dr Neeraj Tripathi, Dr Vikram Singh, Mr Avdhesh Gupta, Mr Gaurav, Mr Sanjeev Vadawan, and Mr Sumit Sharma were present during the event.
Vice-Chancellor Prof R K Sinha congratulated all participants for attending the celebration events on the “historic occasion”.
