Katra, Sept 06: In a grand ceremony held at the Matrika auditorium of SMVD University, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha commemorated the Foundation Day of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and the annual day of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul. The event witnessed several significant announcements and inaugurals .
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated Gayatri Bhawan, a new residential complex intended for the employees of the Shrine Board, located in Nomain. He also e-inaugurated an ambitious underground cabling project within the Shrine area, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and also inaugurated additional dining and accommodation facilities at Gurukul as part of the event.
During his address, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his heartiest congratulations to all members, management, and individuals associated with the Shrine Board and SMVD Gurukul. He announced the introduction of Children Education Allowance for all employees of the Shrine Board. This allowance, set to benefit staff members with school-going children, will be implemented starting Sharadiya Navratri in October this year. The Lt. Governor emphasized the government’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Shrine Board employees.
Highlighting the Shrine Board’s efforts, Lt. Governor Sinha emphasized that the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine pilgrimage is a symbol of Sanatan Culture, a source of energy, and a beacon of divinity for humanity. He underscored the Board’s commitment to utilizing modern infrastructure to provide hassle-free pilgrimage experiences and enrich the spiritual journey of travellers.
Meanwhile, the Lt. Governor praised the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul for its dedication to providing quality education to students. He noted that the Gurukul is evolving into a hub of both science and Sanskar, aiming to strike a harmonious balance between Science, Technology, and the quest for inner self-discovery. Lt. Governor Sinha mentioned the integration of modern education with Vedic education to prepare students for societal service and future challenges.
Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha stressed that sacrifice, service, and spirituality form the foundation of comprehensive societal development. He called upon schools, Gurukuls, and universities to create an environment conducive to the all-round development of students, encouraging originality, fostering new ideas, instilling self-confidence, and inspiring young minds to contribute to the nation’s social and economic empowerment.
During the ceremony, Lt. Governor Sinha released the second edition of the Annual Magazine of SMVD Gurukul. Additionally, a Sanskrit short film titled “Tatvabodh” was screened to further enrich the cultural experience of the attendees.
The event saw the presence of distinguished members of the Shrine Board, including Mahamandleshwar Shri Swami Vishveshvaranand Giriji Maharaj, Dr. Ashok Bhan, Dr. Neelam Sareen, Sh. Suresh Kumar Sharma, Raghu K. Mehta, and Padma Shri Prof. Vishwamurti Shastri. Also in attendance were Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, Anshul Garg, CEO of SMVDSB, senior officials, PRI members, and the principal, students, and faculty members of Gurukul.
