Despite the high volume of visitors, the hospital said it maintains cleanliness and hygiene through a dedicated team of 35 sanitation workers in three shifts. The SMHS authorities have appealed to all visitors, attendants, and patients to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene on the hospital premises. They have requested that polythene bags not be brought into the hospital and that people do not litter on the premises.
“We are committed to providing quality healthcare facilities with a special focus on sanitation, cleanliness and hygiene,” the spokesperson said. “We urge everyone to lend a helping hand in keeping our hospital clean and hygienic.”
The spokesperson said the hospital’s efforts to maintain cleanliness and hygiene have been recognised by the government, which has praised the institution’s commitment to providing high-quality patient care facilities.
