High School, Subhash Nagar. This initiative was part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (Drug-Free India Campaign).
The event witnessed the participation of around 61 students who were engaged in various educational activities aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. The programme began with an introduction to the SLCA and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan by Ms Kimi Padhiar, an official from SLCA J&K.
The awareness programme was structured into three sessions, where resource persons provided valuable insights into psychoactive substances, categorizing different types of substances, and discussing their short-term and long-term effects on the human body. The sessions were interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and activities.
To further reinforce the learning, a quiz competition on “Drug Abuse Prevention” was organized for the students. The winners were awarded prizes, and all participants were given refreshments. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr Deepak Bhati from SLCA J&K, who appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and the efforts of everyone involved in making the event a success.
This awareness program is part of a larger effort by the Government of India to combat drug abuse and promote a drug-free society through education and preventive measures.
