Pulwama, Jan 11: The Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology Kashmir (SKUAST-K) took center stage at the Foundation Day celebration of ATARI Zone 1 in Ludhiana, Punjab.
Officials revealed that under the dynamic leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Nazir Ahmed Ganie and the guidance of Professor Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Director Extension, the KVK contingent displayed an impressive array of cutting-edge technologies and agricultural products.
They said that programme coordinators, fuelled by dedication, delivered an overwhelming performance, showcasing the transformative impact of their work.
The outstanding display led SKUAST-Kashmir to be recognised as the best performer among the 72 KVKs in the North Zone.
The university was honoured with the prestigious Best Exhibition Award, underscoring its commitment to agricultural advancement.
Adding to the jubilation were three exceptional farmers from SKUAST-Kashmir who received the Best Farmer Award.
Khairul Nissa from Pulwama, Danish Wani from Kupwara, and a farmer from Kargil were acknowledged for their noteworthy contributions to agriculture.
Additionally, KVK Kulgam received the Best Performer Award from the Kashmir division.
Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), established by ICAR in Ludhiana, actively engages in planning, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating ICAR-sponsored transfer of technology projects through Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
