Srinagar, Feb 16: SKUAST-Kashmir and IIT-Mandi on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding for mutual cooperation in academic research and entrepreneurship.
The MoU of understanding was signed by Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K and Laximidhar Behera, Director IIT-Mandi at a brief signing ceremony at SKUAST-Kashmir that was attended by officers of SKUAST-K, IIT-Mandi and Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir.
SKUAST-K in recent years has transformed itself into a technology embracing institutes and in that endeavor is likely to start B.Tech Programme in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Agriculture and establish a Centre of Excellence for use of information and communication technology in Agriculture.
This MoU will go a long way in capacity building of the institution with regards to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning as well as strengthen SKUAST-K’s resolve to drive Agri-4.0 technologies like precision agriculture, climate resilient agriculture and automation
