Srinagar, July 19: The Division of Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry of SKUAST-Kashmir, under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP)-Project-20 on Innovative Extension Approaches, successfully hosted a series of awareness events culminating on World Zoonoses Day-2025.As per a statement issued here, the initiative aimed to educate students, public, and stakeholders on the critical importance of preventing diseases transmitted between animals and humans. The program kicked off with Essay and Quiz Competitions for undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary students on 3 rd July-2025, fostering engagement and knowledge on zoonotic threats.This was followed by an impactful One-Day Symposium cum Panel Discussion on 9 th July 2025, themed & Tackling Zoonoses Together in J&K." The symposium served as a vital interdisciplinary platform, bringing together leading scientists and officers from diverse sectors, including medical, veterinary, food, fisheries, and environment. Representatives from prominentorganizations such as GMC Srinagar, GMC Anantnag, SKIMS Soura, IUST Awantipora, Sheep & Animal Husbandry Department, and various SKUAST-K Divisions actively participated in the symposium. In the inaugural session of symposium, Prof. Haroon R.
