Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK)-Anantnag, SKUAST-K in collaboration with the National Innovation Foundation (NIF)-India, successfully organized a Technology Dissemination Ceremony on Monday.
The event showcased apple-related innovations, including the Modified Orchard Cart and the Apple Plucker, which were distributed to budding entrepreneurs and progressive farmers in the region.
Dr. Ishtiyaq A. Khan, Head of KVK-Anantnag, presided over the function. In his address, he highlighted the significance of such events in the current global scenario, emphasizing that the present era is one of innovation. He commended SKUAST-Kashmir for its leadership in fostering an innovation-led ecosystem and encouraged beneficiaries to assess the functionality and workability of the distributed innovations on their farms, urging them to provide feedback for potential improvements.
Adnan Ahmad Shah, the innovator behind the Apple Plucker, conducted a live demonstration of the device at the KVK Farm, offering beneficiaries hands-on insight into its operation. The event was cordinated by Mr. Shabbir Ah. Kutay, Technical Officer cum Innovation Officer NIF-cell JK, and Dr. Shabeer Ganaie, Incharge of the Mini Innovator Cell at KVK-Anantnag. On the sidelines of the event, an anti-drug pledge ceremony was also held, underscoring the commitment to a drug-free community.
This ceremony marks a significant step in empowering local farmers with innovative tools, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and fostering a culture of innovation within the region.
