SKUAST-K holds Graduation Day for veterinary students

Srinagar, July 19: SKUAST-K’s Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry Friday held Graduation Day Ceremony for 2018 Batch of BVSc&AH students.
About 68 BVSc&AH students who graduated from SKUAST-K’s Faculty of Veterinary Sciences were conferred with the provisional degree certificates. The first if its kind event at the campus included an academic procession and oath ceremony of veterinarians. Three students, who had completed their internship recently, were also felicitated at the occasion.
Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, who was the chief guest at the function, in his thought provoking and highly inspiring address congratulated the passing out graduates and their parents. He commended the faculty members for chiselling the students and mentoring them to be the next generation global leaders and responsible citizens.
Prof Ganai drew the attention of young professionals to some of the major achievements of the university in recent times, acknowledged by all organizations of repute. Prof Ganai called on the passing Vets to dream big and work hard with an all-encompassing mantra of discipline that not only can make them successful professionals but will help in the development of the region and the country.
Earlier, Registrar, SKUAST-K, Prof Tariq Hussain Masoodi in his brief address highlighted the milestones covered by the university and its unique propositions at both national and international level.
Registrar, being the custodian of the university, also administered the Veterinarian Oath to the passing graduates.
Dean Faculty, Prof Mohammad Tufail Banday, after congratulating the students, touched on various key highlights of the academic journey of graduating students that stand testament in the form of their hard-earned degrees. He wished the students best in their future endeavours.
The OSD to Vice Chancellor Prof Azmat Alam Khan talked about the growing number of the SKUAST-K alumni at various Institutes and organizations of repute, making the university proud.
The event also gave a rear opportunity to parents of the students to express their feelings on the occasion alongside the students too expressing themselves with mixed bundle of emotions.
Head Microbiology, Prof Sabiya Qureshi, welcomed the guests and Head Veterinary Physiology, Prof Zahoor Ahmad Pampori, presented the vote of thanks. Dr Andleep Rafique conducted the event proceedings.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor dedicated the newly created Pharmacy and Lab at Veterinary Clinical Complex to the farming community.
