Pulwama, Sep 27: Sher e Kashmir University Agriculture Sciences and Technology -Kashmir (SKUAST-K) has received highest number of short-term training programmes on Skill development and Entrepreneurship from Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) among all universities and colleges of the country.
Vice Chancellor Sher e Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology Nazir Ahmad Ganie revealed this while speaking to media here at KVK Malangpora, Pulwama where he was serving as Chief guest on one day awareness cum popularisation programme.
He said that the university is starting approximately 555 short term skill development courses and under HADP initiative they are launching numerous other programmes.
“The aim of these programs is to empower our youth to stand on their own feet and become job providers rather than just seekers,” he said.
Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganie also mentioned that the approval for these 555 programs has been granted and they have conveyed this message through social media to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
“These 555 programs will be made available on university website allowing interested individuals to apply online,” he said.
He emphasized that people from across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh can select their desired training program through the website and apply for it.
Furthermore, he noted that among all the universities and colleges across the country, the Ministry of MSME has sanctioned the highest number of programs to SKUAST-Kashmir.
