SKUAST-K, CoTS Mirgund organize entrepreneurship awareness program

Sinagar, Dec 03: One Day Entrepreneurship Awareness Program on “Sericulture As A Low Investment High Returns Venture’’ sponsored by Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) was organized today on 2nd of December, 2024 by Division of Cocoon Crop Production, College of Temperate Sericulture, Mirgund.
Fifty participants were registered for the programme. At the outset, Prof. I. L. Khan, Prof. & Head, DCCP, CoTS, Mirgund welcomed the guests & the participants. The coordinator of the programme Dr. I. L. Khan deliberated upon the aims and objectives of the programme.
He impressed upon the participants to become job providers instead of job seekers. Prof. K. A. Sahaf, Assoc. Dean, CoTS, Mirgund, Prof. M. R. Mir, Prof. & Head, BSH, CoTS, Mirgund, Dr. K.A Dar, Dr. Aabid Khaliq Tantray, Dr. Masrat Bashir and Dr. Sabiya Ashraf gave detailed presentations and lectures regarding different avenues and entrepreneurship opportunities in the field of sericulture.
The participants were also demonstrated different practical demonstrations viz., visit to mulberry germplasm bank, intercropping block, low cost rearing hut model and museum of the college for increasing their enthusiasm towards sericulture.
