Srinagar, Aug 13: The Genome Engineering and Societal Biotechnology Lab, SKUAST-K organized one-day International Workshop on “Research Paper Writing and Overseas Career Opportunities”. The event brought together researchers and students from different fields for an enriching day of learning and networking.
The workshop provided detailed information on pursuing careers internationally, and discussed about the application strategies for overseas positions, scholarship opportunities, and tips for building a global professional network. Prof. Amjad M. Husaini, Convener of the workshop in his welcome address gave a comprehensive overview of the program and the purpose of effective research paper writing and navigating career opportunities abroad.
The Chief Guest Prof. Shabir. A. Wani, Dean Faculty of Horticulture, complemented the organizers and stressed on the importance of organizing such programmes for Post-graduate students. He highlighted the importance of academic writing skills and emphasised on having a global vision by way of grasping overseas career opportunities.
He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional development, urging participants to leverage the knowledge gained and apply it to advance their research and career aspirations.
The Guest of Honour Prof. Khalid Rehman Hakeem, King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia delivered lectures offering valuable guidance on crafting impactful research papers and the importance of adhering to publication standards. Participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions that covered various facets of formulating a research problem, structuring a research paper, the peer review process, and ethical considerations which garnered widespread appreciation from the attendees.
In the valedictory session Prof. Mohd. Ashraf Bhat, HoD distributed the participation certificates. In his address he underscored the significance of the workshop and motivated the participants to strive hard for excellence in their academic and professional endeavors.
