SKUAST hosts entrepreneurship program on ‘Leadership Skills’

Srinagar, Jan 14: The Institute of Business and Policy Research (IBPR) at SKUAST-Kashmir organized a one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) titled “Essential Leadership Skills for Successful Entrepreneurship” on Jan 14th, 2025 at Discussion Hall of IBPR.
The programme was attended by diverse participation form UG Students of Commerce Guru, Lal Bazar Srinagar. This program aimed to inspire students to leadership demands in the contemporary times while also educating them on the future skills essential for capitalizing on job opportunities in today’s competitive landscape.
Dr. Omar Fayaz Khan (Organizing Secretary) of the event, began the session by providing an insightful overview of the EAP initiatives. He highlighted the leadership demands to the Kashmiri youth in the backdrop of VUCA environment experienced at the global level. Dr. Khan emphasized how these programs contribute to capacity building, equipping young people with the contemporary skills necessary to thrive in the evolving job market. He particularly underscored the significance of skill-based education, stressing that it forms the cornerstone for creating sustainable career opportunities in a fast-changing world.
Dr. Ubair Nisar, (Assistant Professor & Program Coordinator) at the Institute of Business and Policy Research (IBPR) welcomed the Guests and Participants. Valuable insights & reflection on the programme was given by Mr. Salim Nabi Mir (Founder, Commerce Guru) and the session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Fajar Dhar (Co-Founder Commerce Guru & Program Coordinator). The one-day program provided a platform for students to learn about leadership skills and the importance of education in shaping successful career paths.
