Srinagar, Oct 5: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir conducted a daylong awareness programme to sensitise students about the collaborative Dual Degree Programme initiated between Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia and SKUAST-K.
The programme was organised by SKUAST-K’s International Education Centre, Directorate of Education at the Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura campus.
Members of the International Education Centre, led by Prof Mohammad Anwar Bhat, along with Dr Sameera Qayoom, Dr Ajaz Malik, and Dr Mudasir Kirmani actively engaged with the students to provide them with detailed information about the Dual Degree Programme that offers students a unique platform for international exposure and academic excellence.
During the sensitization, students were provided comprehensive information about the dual degree programme, including its curriculum, international exposure opportunities, and the potential benefits it offers for their academic and professional growth. The interactive sessions facilitated discussions, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of the program’s advantages and the global perspective it encompasses.
Dean Faculty of Agriculture Prof Raihana Habib in her address not only emphasized the significance of international collaborations in the academic sphere but also inspired the students to embrace the global learning opportunities provided by the dual degree initiative.
Prof Anwar said the collaboration between Western Sydney University and SKUAST-K opens doors to a world of possibilities for the students. It is an incredible opportunity for them to experience diverse cultures, gain international perspectives, and excel academically. He further added that SKUAST-K has also entered into such collaborations with the University of Guelph Canada and Griffith University. Dr Ajaz Malik presented the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the function.
