Srinagar, Nov 19: College of Temperate Sericulture, SKUAST-K, Mirgund, witnessed the inauguration of a one-week Skill Development Programme titled “Women Empowerment Through Value Addition in Sericulture for Entrepreneurship Skills and Livelihood Security.”
This transformative initiative enrolled 25 enthusiastic trainees, aiming to foster entrepreneurial skills and secure sustainable livelihoods through advancements in sericulture.
The event commenced with Dr. Masarat Bashir, the Programme Coordinator, delivering a comprehensive overview of the training programme. She eloquently highlighted the importance of the initiative, particularly in light of recent innovations in sericulture. Dr. Nisar Ahmad Ganie, Head of the Division of Cocoon Crop Production, warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the significance of their active engagement throughout the sessions.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Prof. K.A. Sahaf, Associate Dean of the college, in presence of Heads of Divisions, scientists, and trainees.
