Srinagar, Dec 14: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Wednesday raided multiple locations in Anantnag district in connection with a terrorism case and during the raids, various incriminating materials were recovered, officials said.
A police official said continuing its crackdown on terror elements, SIU Anantnag conducted raids in the residential houses of Shahbaz Ahmad son of Mushtaq Ahmad Thoker resident of WaghamaBijbehara, and Subzar Ahmad son of Farooq Ahmad Ganie resident of MarhamaHalimporaBijbehara.
“During the search, SIU Anantnag gathered relevant information and the role of these accused in the commission of crime is being examined”, he said.
The official said searches were conducted after obtaining Search warrants from Hon’ble Court for two different locations of district Anantnag viz residential houses of two accused involved in case FIR No. 137/2022 U/S 307 IPC, 7/27 Arms act, 16, 18, 20, 38, UA(P) Act registered in Police Station Bijbehara.
“Proper SOPs were followed during the raids. These raids are carried out to eliminate the terror ecosystem in the district by identifying various Over Ground Workers and supporters of terrorism.
The official said such raids will continue in the future also for the logical conclusion of all UAPA cases.
