Srinagar, Mar 13: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Anantnag attached the house of one accused involved in terrorist activities on Monday., officials said.
A police officer told Rising Kashmir that SIU Anantnag has attached the house of an accused involved in terror activities. He stated that the property was attached in the presence of the Executive Magistrate and local PRI’s.
The accused property owner has been  identified as Mohd Ishaq Malik son of Mohd Saifullah Malik resident of DhanwetehporaKokernag. He was allegedly involved in terrorist activities and his house was attached in the presence of Executive Magistrate under section 25 UAP Act.
“The accused was involved in case FIR No. 103/2022 U/S 307 IPC, 7/27 Arms Act 18, 20, 23, 38 UAP Act of Police Station Kokernag. The accused is presently lodged in District Jail Anantnag,” he said.
The official said SIU Anantnag went to the specific location under a posse of security men and pasted the notice on the house in presence of local Sarpanchs, Panchs and Chowkidars.
According to the notice, the owner of the house has been restrained to ‘transfer, lease out, dispose off, change its nature or deal with the said property in any manner without the permission of designated authority.
The general public is once again requested to not harbour or provide shelter or extend logistics to terrorists, terror associates in their houses, failing which strict legal action will be taken against anyone doing so.
On Sunday, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said properties are being attached after proper verification.
“We are not playing any game, wherever we find that specific property has been used for terrorism with a nod for the owner. Only those properties are being attached. We have warned people a number of times not to provide shelter or provide transport to any militant.
“Those who are found guilty of providing support to terrorists in their nefarious designs will not be spared anymore,” he said.
