Pulwama, Oct 12: Aquib Gulzar Bhatt, a talented singer from Prichoo village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district has touched many hearts with his soulful voice.
Such impactful is Bhatt’s voice that he is complimented by thousands of his followers as Salman Ali of Kashmir.
Salman is a playback singer from Haryana who won10th season of Indian Idol singing competition.
“Wapas Yitam,” song sung by Bhatt has more than 4 lakh views on YouTube, another song Arziyan –Bhar Do Jholi has close to 40 thousand views. His other songs include ‘Cxe Yiwan Roshe’ and ‘Bol Na Halke Halke’.
‘Bol Na Halke Halke’ has become a hit on Facebook page with more than 1.6 lakh views.
Bhatt, a science graduate has around 1300 songs on Smule Global, a platform for music lovers to showcase their talent.
He is the only verified singer from J&K on Smule Global with 57 thousand followers.
Aquib, who sings across different genres with equal mastery, has received sobriquet of ‘Singer of melancholy’ by Smule India.
Talking to Rising Kashmir Aquib said that he has been inclined to singing right from his childhood.
Aquib’s father, a veterinary pharmacist used to sing songs of Bollywood stalwarts like Mohammad Rafi and Kishore Kumar as lullabies to his son.
Aquib would fall asleep on hearing those lullabies and as a grown up boy he used to imitate his father.
He nurtured his singing talent as pastime hobby for years.
It was only a couple of years ago that he gave singing a serious thought.
“I am composer too. I composed music for two songs, Hoor and Yaar Tera,” Aquib said, adding that both the songs became viral on social media.
After the composition, he launched his own singing channels across different social media platforms.
Many Bollywood and established singers from Kashmir have been impressed with his good singing and appreciated his beautiful, soulful and original voice on facebook and other social media.
The list include film actress Rajeshwari Sachdev, Singer Kailash Mehra Sadhu and vocalist Sniti Mishra.
Aquib sings different genres including pop, naat and rap but classical and semi classical is close to his heart.
“I want to take my singing career to next level and I am looking for breakthrough as a playback singer,” he said.
