JAMMU, Jun 11:Simran Bala, hailing from the border town of Nowshera in Jammu and Kashmir, has become the first woman in the Union Territory this year to crack the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Examination.
She has secured an All India Rank of 82 among the 151 candidates who qualified for UPSC CAPF this year.
The Union Public Service Commission announced the CAPF Final Result 2021 on June 2. A total of 151 candidates have cleared the examination.
“It was my childhood dream to serve in the belt force. Since my grandparents also served in the belt forces, I also had a dream to serve the country by joining belt forces,” Bala said.
She left her home for more than eight years to follow her childhood ambition, defied all difficulties, and ultimately, through her pure hard work, Simran Bala passed the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Examination on her first attempt.
“I studied until Class 10 in Nowshera, following which I relocated to Jammu for my higher secondary education. I did my class 11th and 12th from MHACS-Nagbani. Then, I completed my graduation from Women College, Gandhi Nagar College. I was in my last semester when I started preparing for this exam and cleared it on my first attempt,” she said.
“For the last more than eight years, I have been living all alone in a rented room in Jammu City at Canal Road. One can imagine how difficult it is to live alone away from your home for these long years,” she remarked.
“My parents, teachers, and many people supported me. Hard work, perseverance, and consistency helped me in my approach towards this exam,” she said.
In her message to J&K girls, she advised them to step forward, and pursue their aspirations with complete dedication and devotion. “Be focused, work hard, and follow your dreams,” she advised the girls of J&K in her letter, adding that “hard work never goes unrewarded.”
“Girls of J&K are no way behind the girls of other states,” Simran said and reiterated, “Come forward and chase your dreams”.
