Srinagar, Nov 04: The Special Investigation Agency (SIA) carried out searches at a house in Kanuyian village of Poonch district of Jammu division in connection with a terror-related case on Saturday.
As per police officials, searches were carried out at around 4 am at the residence of the suspect, Mohammad Hafiz, located in Kanuyian village. “Hafiz was not present at his house during the time of the raid.”
However during the searches, incriminating material, mobile phones, electronic gadgets, and other articles having bearing on the investigation have been recovered and seized.
The police official said analysis of the data would follow and leads that would emerge would become the basis for further investigation.

“It is pertinent to mention here that the investigation is aimed at dismantling the terror ecosystem in the UT by not only identifying over-ground workers (OGWs) supporting and abetting terrorism but by ensuring legal action as envisaged by the law of the land,” he said.
Meanwhile, police along with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) initiated a joint cordon-and-search operation at various locations in the Poonch district. These locations include Copra top, Bachian Wali, Shiendara, Thandi Kassi, and Mohalla Saedan. The operation commenced early morning on Saturday and was still ongoing.
