ShriAmarnathJiYatra -2023: DGP ensures stringent security measures for pilgrims

Srinagar, July 14:In a visit to the Base Camp YatriNiwasBhagwati Nagar, Jammu, Dilbag Singh, the Director General of Police for Jammu and Kashmir, reviewed the security arrangements and facilities for the pilgrims of the ShriAmarnathJiYatra.
The visit included interactions with pilgrims and officers to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage.
Accompanied by various senior police officials including SSP Jammu ChandanKholi, SSP Security Jammu ShemsherHussain, SSP Traffic Jammu Faisal Qureshi, and SP North Jammu KulbirHanda, among others, the DGP inspected the security methods and mechanisms implemented at the camp. Detailed briefings were provided to the DGP regarding deployment plans, management of boarding and lodging facilities, as well as the overall security arrangements in and around the camp.
During the visit, the DGP emphasized the importance of maintaining a close vigil at the base camp and its surroundings. He stressed that instructions regarding the movement of yatra convoys and the timing schedule should be strictly adhered to. Additionally, the DGP assessed the traffic management at the camp, highlighting its significance.
Regarding the security of the yatris, the DGP directed the officers to ensure strict compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and instructions issued for their safety. He emphasized the need for efficient implementation of security measures, including random reviews of vital points within the camp. Furthermore, officers and officials were instructed to take necessary measures whenever required.
The DGP took the opportunity to interact with the pilgrims, inquiring about the available facilities and arrangements. The pilgrims expressed their satisfaction with the arrangements provided. Additionally, the DGP held discussions with the officers to review the services offered for a smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage experience.
The visit by the Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh, underlines the commitment of the authorities to ensure the security and well-being of the pilgrims participating in the ShriAmarnathJiYatra.
