Highlights significance of a nation rising above mentality of slavery

AYODHYA, JAN 22: In a momentous occasion that has been centuries in the making, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation today on the inauguration of the Ram Temple, marking a significant chapter in India’s history. Speaking from the sacred land of Ayodhya, PM Modi conveyed a message of unity, devotion, and a collective vision for the future.
Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi expressed the significance of the occasion, remarking that “After centuries of patience, uncountable sacrifices, renunciation, and penance, our Lord Ram is here.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday evening lighted ‘Ram Jyoti’ (earthern lamps) after the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the idol of Ram Lalla in the newly-built Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The Prime Minister has urged citizens to light the ‘Ram Jyoti’ on the auspicious occasion and welcome Ram Lalla.
The photos were shared by the Prime Minister on X with the caption “Ram Jyoti”.
PM Modi interacted with the shramjeevi (workers) who contributed to the construction of the temple, acknowledging their efforts in making the dream of a grand Ram temple a reality. He emphasized the divine nature of the moment, stating that the morning of January 22, 2024, marks the beginning of a new era, a “new ‘kaal chakra'” in the history of India.
Reflecting on the historical significance of the event, the Prime Minister thanked the Judiciary of India for upholding justice during the prolonged legal battle for the construction of the temple. He noted that the construction of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir symbolises peace, patience, mutual harmony, and coordination within Indian society.
PM Modi expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made by saints, Kar Sewaks, and Ram Bhakts, attributing the day not only as a moment of celebration but also a realization of the maturity of Indian society. He stressed that the construction of the temple is a symbol of India’s vision, philosophy, and direction.
The Prime Minister highlighted the global significance of the event, stating that the whole world is connected with the Pran Pratistha, and celebrations can be seen in many countries. He emphasized the idea of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family), stating that Ram Lalla’s prestige embodies this universal concept.
PM Modi called for introspection among Ram Bhakts about the path ahead and urged the nation to build a strong, capable, grand, and divine India. He emphasized the importance of incorporating Ram’s ideals into the nation’s conscience, encouraging citizens to expand their consciousness from deity to nation.
The Prime Minister drew parallels between historical characters like Shri Hanuman, Mata Shabri, and Jatayu, urging citizens to imbibe qualities of devotion, service, dedication, and integrity. He emphasized the spirit of collective effort, stating that every contribution, big or small, has its strength and significance.
Looking towards the future, PM Modi envisioned a prosperous India, dedicated to successes and accomplishments, with the grand Ram Temple bearing witness to the nation’s progress. He encouraged the young generation to draw strength from their heritage and move ahead with confidence, combining tradition and modernity for India’s prosperity.
The historic Pran Pratishtha ceremony witnessed the participation of representatives from various spiritual and religious sects, symbolizing the unity of diverse communities. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, constructed in traditional Nagara style, stands as a testament to India’s rich cultural heritage and indigenous technology. The Prime Minister concluded the ceremony by expressing his dedication to the nation-building cause and extending his best wishes to all.
Continuing his theme of going beyond self, PM Modi said our worship of Bhagwan Ram should be for the entire creation, from ‘I’ to ‘us’. Our efforts, he said, should be dedicated to the creation of a Viksit Bharat.
Referring to the ongoing Amrit Kaal and young demographics, the Prime Minister noted the perfect combination of factors for the nation’s growth.  The Prime Minister underlined that the future is dedicated to successes and accomplishments and the grand Ram Temple will be a witness to the progress and rise of India. “This grand Ram temple will become a witness to the rise of Viksit Bharat”, the Prime Minister said. Drawing lessons from the temple, the Prime Minister emphasized that a goal can be achieved if it is justified and born out of collective and organized power.
“This is India’s time and India is going to move forward. After waiting for centuries we have reached here. We all have waited for this era, this period. Now we will not stop. We will continue to reach the heights of development”, the Prime Minister concluded paying his obeisance at the feet of Ram Lalla and wishing the very best.
Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Mohan Bhagwat and President of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust, Shri Nritya Gopal Das were present on the occasion among others.

Highlights from Pran Pratishtha ceremony

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the rituals of the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony at the “historic” Ram temple in Ayodhya on Monday after which the Ram Lalla idol was unveiled at the Shri Ram Janmaboomi Temple.
PM Modi arrived in Ayodhya on Monday to attend the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony at the newly constructed Ram Temple.
Donning a golden kurta and a cream-coloured dhoti, walked inside the temple premises with a silver ‘chattar’ (umbrella) placed on a red folded dupatta. He took ‘sankalp’ for the “Pran Pratishtha ceremony” and later moved to the sanctum sanctorum for the rituals.
The Prime Minister later performed the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony, a vital ritual in the Hindu tradition, that symbolizes the infusion of divine energy into the idol.
After the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony, PM Modi performed the ‘aarti’ of the Ram Lalla idol at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
The Prime Minister after that performed ‘parikrama’ of the deity and did ‘dandvat pranam’. This act of devotion, characterized by prostrating fully with one’s forehead touching the ground, is a mark of utmost reverence and humility in Hindu tradition.
PM Modi also met the ‘sadhus’ (saints) who were present at the temple and took blessings from them.
PM Modi completed his 11-day fast by taking Charanamrit from the hands of Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
PM Modi also greeted Ram Temple ‘Pran Pratishtha’ program attendees in Ayodhya. Actor Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, Reliance Industries Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani, former PM HD Deve Gowda and his son HD Kumaraswamy were among the attendees.
PM Narendra Modi also offered prayers before Lord Shiva at the Ayodhya Dham where he performed ‘jalabhishek’ (offering water on the ‘Shiva linga’) after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
During the ritual of Pran Pratishtha the lotus flower was kept in the hands of the Prime Minister.
PM Modi showered flower petals on the workers who were a part of the construction crew at Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
