Shopian, Jan 27: The Shopian Police have successfully solved a burglary case within 24 hours, apprehending the burglars and recovering stolen gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees from their possession. The case, registered as FIR No.19/2024 registered under Sections 454 (house-trespass) and 380 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code at Police Station Shopian.
According to a press release issued by the Shopian Police, a resident of the district reported a burglary at their residence on Friday, January 26th. The perpetrators had decamped with a significant amount of gold jewelry. Acting swiftly on the complaint, a dedicated police team swung into action, initiating a thorough investigation.
“We immediately formed a special team to investigate the case,” said a senior police official. “The team meticulously examined the scene of the crime, gathered evidence, and interrogated potential witnesses.”
The investigation yielded results within a day. “Based on the leads gathered, we were able to identify and locate the suspects within 24 hours of the crime,” the official added. “Two individuals were apprehended, and during the course of interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in the burglary.”
