Jammu, Oct 02: Shiv Sena (UBT’s) 42nd Holy Chhari Yatra commenced on Wednesday from the renowned Shri Raghunath Ji temple in Jammu. The event was marked by a vibrant Shoba Yatra.
Bal Saint Shri Sahil Ji Maharaj flagged off the Yatra by raising the saffron flag. The Chhari Puja is scheduled to be performed at the Holy Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Darbar on the auspicious occasion of Shubh Navratra on October 03.
Following worship at the historic Shri Raghunath Ji temple, the Holy Chhari of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi and the Akhand Jyoti departed in a colorful procession. The Shoba Yatra, filled with the sounds of drums and chants of “Maa’s Jai,” made its way through Raghunath Bazaar, Purani Mandi, and Rajtilak Road, before reaching the Kol Kandoli temple in Nagrota. After paying homage to Maa Bhagwati, the Yatra continued towards Katra, where it received a warm welcome from the Shiv Sena Katra unit.
Manish Sahni, the party’s state chief, said that on October 03, during the first auspicious Navratri, devotees will have the opportunity to perform Chhari Poojan and receive the Holy darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi. “We will pray for the prosperity, progress, peace and mutual brotherhood of the country and Jammu & Kashmir,” he said.
Sahni also condemned the lack of administrative support during the Chhari Yatra but praised the cooperation received from the Dharmarth Trust. The event was attended by Bal Sant Sahil Ji Maharaj as the chief guest, along with party national organizer Ashok Tiwari and Dharmarth Trust secretary Ashok Sharma as special guests.
