Budgam, Oct 11: Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Front and former minister, Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, has extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of the annual Urs of the revered Sufi saint, Hazrat Shiekh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA). He expressed his sincere prayers that this auspicious event brings lasting peace and prosperity to the strife-torn region.
Hakeem Yaseen appealed to the people to follow the teachings of the Sufi saint, imbibing the spirit of compassion, humanity, peace, and harmony. He urged the district administration of Budgam to make comprehensive arrangements for the smooth celebration of the weeklong Urs.
The PDF chairman called for foolproof transport arrangements to facilitate the devotees’ travel from various parts of Kashmir to the shrine at Chrari Sharief. He urged the authorities to identify additional parking spaces to prevent traffic jams that often inconvenience the devotees. He stressed the necessity of a robust Traffic Management Plan to ensure hassle-free movement and parking of incoming passenger vehicles. He urged for the deployment of additional passenger vehicles for the convenience of the devotees.
Yaseen also called for uninterrupted power and water supply in the town, especially during the Urs days. He also demanded an increase in the ration quota for the residents of Chrari Sharief town and urged the health department to establish emergency medical camps along the route to the town, considering the anticipated influx of devotees.
