Shailendra reviews progress on CSSs, CAPEX, HADP

Srinagar, Mar 05: Principle Secretary, Agriculture Production Department (APD), Shailendra Kumar, today convened a meeting of agriculture and horticulture departments here to review progress on implementation of several Centrally Sponsored Schemes CSSs, CAPEX and HADP besides assessing the physical and financial achievements recorded, so far, under these programmes.
During the meeting, different centrally sponsored schemes being implemented by the department of agriculture and horticulture including RKVY, MIDH, ATMA, NFSM, PM KISAN, Soil Health Card scheme, KCC scheme and others were discussed in detail. The implementation of projects under the Holistic Agriculture Development program were also discussed threadbare.
Addressing the meeting, Shailendra Kumar highlighted the importance of judicious expenditure of funds being released under different CSSs, projects under HADP and CAPEX. He asked the officers that funds allocated under different components of centrally sponsored schemes must be expended completely to avoid any lapses. He reiterated the importance of maintaining the highest level of transparency and accountability during all expenditures.
The Principle Secretary asked the concerned officers to work in close coordination with district administration during the implementation of different initiatives at district level. He directed the officers to reach out to the farmers of every area and make them aware about latest farmer friendly technologies in agriculture and horticulture sector. He asked the officers to work in collaboration with the representatives of local communities for successful implementation of different schemes at grassroots level.
Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Horticulture Kashmir, Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, Chief Agriculture and Horticulture Officers of concerned districts and other senior officers of the department of agriculture and horticulture were present in the meeting.
